Musical Compromise (do we really have to listen to this)

I had made a post earlier about my top 5 metal songs here,  so I make no illusions to my music of choice.  I do listen to other types of music from the Beetles to Mumford and sons and Stan Rogers to Marty Robins.  My wife’s music style leans more towards folk.  So it’s true to say the house was always a interesting mix.

My daughter has a amazing ability to memorize lyrics (like me) and knows the lyrics to everything from Sink the Bismark by Johnny Horton to Psychosocial by Slipknot.  I should have know that someday there would be a dreaded new standard of music flowing through the house,  one I really don’t care for,  one called POP.

Soon we had the likes of Lady Gaga, Katie Perry and Taylor swift floating through the house.  And I am sorry if this offends but I really can’t stand any of them.  Recently though I came across a type of music that can please both the daughter and me,  Metal covers of pop songs.  I did not even know this was a thing until about 3 weeks ago and since then I have found that with the right backing music I can now stand pretty much any song.  So if your musical tastes even flow remotely like mine below you will find some of the better covers I have seen.

Applause by Lady Gaga

I knew you were trouble by Taylor Swift

Cover by We came as Romans

Thriller by Michael Jackson

Scream and Shout by will.i.am featuring Brittany Spears

So now the daughter and I both get what we want.  Win Win.
